Visitability Links

These Visitability links are resources for this important idea. The movement to pass visitability laws, ordinances, regulations and policies has always been led my grass roots groups. Their success shows on many levels. Governments at all levels; nationally in Great Britain, the state of Texas, numerous cities and local bodies like zoning commissions.

Organizations supporting and providing information on Visitability are providing a valuable service. To read more about visitability and see a video showing some wonderful examples of visitability see the Access Ape Visitability Article.

VisitAble Housing Canada is an initiative of the Canadian Centre on Disability Studies

The concept of VisitAbility has been discussed in the United States since the 1980s.  There is still more work to be done to make it a reality.

Our project is determined to promote VisitAbility by highlighting promising policies and best practices.  We are encouraging the development of strategies to promote VisitAbility. Our work showcases the positive aspects of VisitAbility, including active living, social inclusion and sustainability.

Throughout the project, we see changes within each community where we work. VisitAbility is catching on as an inclusive concept as we move forward in creating more inclusive communities.

Make a strong statement on inclusion by creating the accessibility that invites all of your family and friends into your home?
