The creativity of people with disabilities is legendary in many of the arts and music.  Theater, television and movies have not been as welcoming. Artists with disabilities continue to pursue their passions. The obstacles and lack of recognition will never stop an artist from pursuing their craft.

http://www.disableddrummers.org/

The Disabled Drummers Association is a non-profit organization founded in 1996 by disabled drummers for the benefit of all drummers with disabilities.  We are dedicated to serving drummers with disabilities.  Helping them to be a positive part of the music industry is important.

Changing the way disabled musicians are viewed and treated in the industry is our ultimate goal.  We:

  • Assist the drummer with disabilities in his or her career pursuit.
  • Teach persons with disabilities to have fun with music
  • Help others to enjoy a better quality of life through Music Therapy

The DDA is here to help you. Clinics and Expos are sponsored to create public awareness, to help members, and to eliminate the stereotype of the disabled musician.

The DDA strives to be instrumental in the manufacture, research and development of electronic and acoustic adaptive equipment.  This enables the challenged musician.  It gives them the opportunity to experience the wonder of what music can do:

Motivate, Uplift and Empower!

We provide a forum to network with others with similar interests, express themselves openly through our Newsletters, purchase items to aid their musical careers at a reduced price, and to have a lot of fun with “those of your kind”.

The Raven Drum Foundation began in 2001 to educate and empower individuals and communities in crisis through healing arts programs, drumming events and collaborative partnerships.  Today Raven Drum has various community and veteran based programs that offer holistic approaches to healing.

We have expanded our work to online interactive programs, radio shows and published healing resources: Raven Drum Circle and the 21 Ways to Resiliency.  We have strong and meaningful community partnerships and moved forward into creating weekend and week retreats focusing on holistic self-care and healing.  Still inspired by the early days, Raven Drum Foundation continues to grow and change expanding through the inspiring people we serve.
